Manuka Honey

What is Active Manuka Honey?
Bees gather pollen from the flowers of the Manuka Bush with the honey making process being enriched by the pollution free environment of New Zealand and Australia. Certain types of Manuka Honey have been observed to have some special healing properties. While it is not fully understood why only some Manuka Honey has the Unique Manuka Factor (UMF) antibacterial property, researchers agree that unlike regular honey, active Manuka Honey has positive healing properties for a variety of skin conditions. In fact, many hospitals and medical practitioners are using active [UMF+10] Manuka Honey for wound treatment. The presence of this UMF property, discovered by Dr Peter Molan, can be detected by laboratory testing, which is conducted by an independent laboratory, Envirohealth, with the approval of the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato in New Zealand. Honey that is tested and verified is given a UMF rating and is referred to as 'Active'.
Use of Manuka Honey as a Skin Treatment
Manuka honey is a natural antioxidant and supplies cells with a wide range of vitamins, amino acids, and minerals while providing white blood cells with the necessary glucose to destroy bacteria. Healing Manuka Honey improves cellular regeneration thereby improving skin texture and skin smoothness. It also promotes collagen production.
Problem Skin
Active Healing Manuka Honey has the ability to destroy a large number of bacteria especially, Staphylococcus aureus and Propiobacterium acnes, common causes of acne. Regular facials will help reduce blemishes without over-drying or aggravating the skin.

Foaming Cleanser For Oily and Combination Skin

A foaming, water soluble, cleanser with a liposomal Vitamin C Complex, Rosemary Oil, Witch Hazel extract and Aloe Vera gel to clean pores while helping prevent the signs of premature aging. The liposomal nature of the Vitamin C, the active ingredient, means it is encapsulated by layers (i.e. has a core of Vitamin C and then one or two layers made out of lipids). By encapsulating the Vitamin C, it protects the Vitamin C from oxidation (degradation etc). The liposomes are able to penetrate into the skin carrying the active ingredient (Vitamin C). Only a small amount is needed to thoroughly clean the skin. |
